Vakeel Saab (translation: Mr. Lawyer) is a 2021 Telugu-language Indian courtroom drama film co-written and directed by Venu Sriram. The film is produced by Dil Raju, Sirish and Boney Kapoor under their Sri Venkateswara Creations and Bayview Projects brands. It is a remake of the 2016 Hindi film Pink, starring Pawan Kalyan, Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Ananya Nagara, Prakash Raj and Shruti Haasan. The film’s music and soundtrack are by S. Thaman.

Principal photography for the film began in Hyderabad in January 2020, and the film was released on April 9, 2021. Vakeel Saab faced several challenges, including the cancellation of fundraising events and blocking of ticket price hikes due to the Andhra Pradesh government’s refusal to implement the Supreme Court-approved price hike, allegedly for political vendetta against Pawan Kalyan. Furthermore, many screenings were cancelled soon after its release due to the lockdown imposed following a severe second wave of COVID-19 infections in the country. Despite these issues, the film grossed 137.65 million rupees (1.3 million euros) worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing Telugu film of the year

The central theme of the film is the status of women in India. Many women are harassed and sexually assaulted by unscrupulous men, believing it is their birthright.
The second half of the film is dominated by a court hearing, which may be the film’s best look at female consent. When a woman says “no,” it means an absolute no to everyone and every situation. This is beautifully portrayed in the film.
