The film stars Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Sonarika Bhadoria, and Prakash Raj in lead roles, with Kabir Duhan Singh portraying the antagonist. Production began in April 2015, and principal photography wrapped up by January 2016. Speedunnodu was released worldwide on February 5, 2016, and is a remake of the 2012 Tamil film Sundarapandian.

In late October 2015, actress Tamannaah Bhatia was signed to perform in a special song for the film. The filming of this song was completed by mid-November 2015, and it was reported that she charged half of her usual remuneration for the appearance. Titled “Bachelor Babu,” the song was created on a budget of ₹2.25 crore (approximately US$270,000). The song occurs during a bachelor party that the hero and his friends throw right after his marriage is arranged. It would feel odd for a guy to dance with another girl immediately after his marriage is set. Sobhan is the son of Veerabhadrappa, the president of Rapthaadu, and he leads a joyful life filled with time spent with his friends. Always eager to assist, Sobhan goes to great lengths to help them, including trying to win over Vasanthi, the daughter of Ramachandrappa, who previously rejected his love proposal back in tenth grade. However, as Sobhan helps his friends, Vasanthi starts to fall for him again, and he reciprocates her feelings.
