Kantara: Chapter 1 is a Kannada-language Indian action thriller film set during the rule of the Kadamba tribe of Banavasi. It is written and directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under his Hombare Films banner. It is a prequel to the 2022 film Kantara, in which Rishab Shetty plays Kaduvetu Siva.
Filming is scheduled to begin in November 2023 and the film is expected to be released in theatres at the end of 2024. The first look and teaser were released on November 27, 2023.The promotional poster was designed by Kaani Studio. Ajaneesh Loknath composed the soundtrack and background music.
