Production for Kaashmora began in the first week of May 2015, after being delayed from February. Karthi takes on dual roles, including that of the titular character. Initially, Vadivelu was cast to play the character’s father, but he was later replaced by Vivek. To prepare for his other role, Karthi learned horse riding.
