Bhediya is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language Horror film directed by Amar Kaushik. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan based on a story and screenplay by Niren Bhatt and stars Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee, Deepak Dobriyal and Pearl Kabak. The film’s plot is inspired by the Indian folklore of Arunachal Pradesh about Yapum, a shape-shifting werewolf who seeks to protect the jungle even at the cost of killing people. It is the third part of the Maddock Supernatural universe.

Bhediya Movie Story
Bhaskar, a road contractor, and his cousin Janardhan “JD” visit Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh to carry out a road construction project. Local residents Jomin and Panda guide them. One night in the forest, Bhaskar gets bitten on the buttocks by a wolf. Anika, a local veterinarian, saves him. The next day, Bhaskar notices changes in himself, including improved sense of smell and hearing, and the ability to communicate with animals. Meanwhile, local residents and tribals oppose the idea of cutting trees to build a road.
Two people involved in the project are found dead. Bite marks on the bodies indicate they were killed by an animal. Panda claims that the murders are the work of a werewolf. Bhaskar turns out to be the culprit of the crime. He has been transforming into a werewolf every night since he was bitten and is unable to control it.
Bhediya Movie Review
The Bollywood and popular meme references are very well placed and fit the story especially Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai and Aayega Aanewaala (music by Sachin Jigar).
This movie will definitely make you laugh your head off. Whether you agree with the way this movie ends is very predictable. Very few movies these days have entertainment value without being too didactic or just plain slapstick. This movie will definitely be remembered as one of Varun Dhawan’s best movies in my eyes.
