The story unfolds in chapters, focusing on the life of a single father, Amudhavan, and his daughter, Papa Amudhavan works in Dubai while his wife, Stella, lives in India with their 14-year-old daughter, Papa, who relies on him for daily care due to a muscular disease. They move in with Amudhavan’s brother and his family, along with their mother, but tension arises when his sister-in-law irrationally fears that her child might contract Papa’s “disease” and asks them to leave.Forced to return home with Papa, Amudhavan faces conflict with locals who pressure him to sell their house and leave the neighborhood. As time passes, he and Papa begin to bond. One night, when Papa unexpectedly gets her period, Amudhavan reassures her and seeks help from a woman named Vijaylakshmi (Viji).
