Present: As Nivi leaves for a school trip, Vanamamalai (who finds out that Vijay and Nivi are alive) causes a school bus accident. With the help of Annie and the locals, Vijay manages to save Nivi and the other children. Vijay finds out that Vanamamalai was behind the accident and decides to take revenge. Vijay returns to Chennai and kills Karikalan. A police officer named Ganesan witnesses this and spreads the news that Vijay has reappeared as a ghost. Vanamamalai tries to warn Ratnam about the truth, but Ratnam, having severed ties with his brother, refuses the warning and assumes that Vanamamalai is behind Karikaran’s death. At night, Vijay kills Ratnam by pushing him off a building under construction. Vijay is captured on arrival by Vanamamalai’s men. Vijay kills Vanamamalai and his men. The murder remains a public mystery, but Sibi Chakravarthy secretly knows that Vijay is alive and reinstates him in the police force. Years later, Vijay, an older Nivi and Annie are in Ladakh, where Vijay, who has changed his identity to Dharmeshwar, continues to secretly assist the CBI in solving various cases.
