Alpha Movie Story

In “Alpha,” Keda faces a critical test of courage when Tau challenges him to kill a wild boar they’ve captured. Keda hesitates and ultimately refuses. One fateful night, their campfire attracts the attention of a large cave lion, which lunges into their circle and snatches Kappa before anyone can react. The tribe hears the desperate struggle in the darkness, and they resign themselves to the belief that Kappa is lost. To honor him, they hold a memorial service, marking his spirit’s journey to the afterlife with a cairn. In the aftermath, a wolf howls in the distance, and Tau tells Keda that the wolf’s name is Alpha, the leader of his pack.

The hunters eventually locate a herd of steppe bison and attempt to stampede them off a cliff. In the ensuing chaos, a bull charges at Keda, tossing him over the edge. He clings to the cliff but eventually loses his grip, falling to a lower ledge where he injures his leg and loses consciousness. Although Tau tries to descend to save him, fellow hunter Sigma convinces him that Keda is dead and that further attempts to reach him are futile. The tribe departs, and Tau mourns Keda with another funeral ritual. Keda wakes to a vulture that mistakes him for dead. He manages to kill the bird and attempts to climb down the cliff. A sudden downpour causes the ravine to flood, prompting Keda to leap into the water below, hoping to survive the fall. He does, despite his injuries, and splints his broken foot. Upon seeing the memorial cairn left by his tribe, he resolves to make his way back to the village alone.
