As the flight progresses, Maude spots a mysterious winged creature clinging to the bomber, which she reports, but most crew members dismiss her claims.
After a malfunction traps her in the turret, Maude is attacked by the creature—a gremlin. Despite her injuries, she takes control of the turret and shoots down a Japanese fighter, earning the crew’s respect.
