The inquisitive friends form a ghost club and decide to search for ghosts in an old haunted house in their neighborhood as their first assignment. Her curiosity stems from an old story about an old man who died in a novel called The Ghost of Sultanpore. However, before the children can discover the ghost, a new family moves in and the villa’s legend resurfaces with frightening force. The story revolves around the mystery behind the eponymous typewriter, which seems to bear a grudge against those who try to remove it from the mansion. The tale is further complicated by the narration of previous residents, and the story jumps between decades. Sudden deaths, Sultanpore’s past, and supernatural forces are also storylines in the web series.

Typewriter Story
The episode begins with a flashback of little Jenny being put to bed by her grandfather Madhav Mathews at Bardez Villa in Bardez, Goa. Worried that there is a ghost in her room, she runs to her grandfather. After searching all over her room for a ghost but finding none, he puts her to bed, only to discover that the “real” Jenny is actually hiding under her bed. She tells her grandfather that there is something on the bed. Currently, the villa has been lying vacant since the death of its owner, famous ghost story writer Madhav Mathews. Now, the three children, Sameera (Sam), daughter of a local police inspector, Devraj (Bunty), Satyajit (Goble) and Sameera’s dog Buddy, have started a ghost club led by Sameera. Based on the book “The Ghost of Sultanpore”, which Madhav Mathews began writing on the day he died, the first attempts to find a ghost are made in the mansion. However, her search is hindered when Jenny, now a young woman, moves into the villa with her husband Peter, daughter Anya and son Nick. The family move into the house after Peter gets a new job in a nearby town. Three local youths befriend Nick and invite him into their group. Anya insists on keeping the old typewriter as an “heirloom”, which Jenny reluctantly accepts. One of the movers was hired by a man named Amit Roy to steal a typewriter from the villa. A disagreement over whether the movers should be paid despite not getting the typewriter leads Amit to murder the mover in the toilets of the Goodhead Bar. A mathematics teacher from a local school suddenly disappears, and Amit conveniently takes his place. Sam’s father and a colleague investigate the murder and speak to the bar owner, James, who tells Inspector Anand about mysterious events that occurred at Bardes Villa when he was still a young man and worked as a gardener there.
Typewriter Review
I am really at a loss for words when people compare this to Stranger Things or Harry Potter.
Like any other series, there are a lot of unanswered questions. We will have to wait for season 2 to find out, but that’s normal. How can that be a reason to dislike this well-made series? The actors are good. I watched it because I like Sujay Ghosh the most. But it’s good to see good cinematography and an exciting story.
And yes, I am a person who is never satisfied with Horror movies as they claim. And when it comes to Horror, only Turkish Horror movies have given me a certain satisfaction.
So, with that in mind. This series is not as bad as people make it out to be.
You only need to watch them once, it’s up to you, I can’t say it’s worth your time.
