Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice, or simply Mayfair Witches, is an American supernatural Horror-thriller drama television series created by Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, based on Anne Rice’s novel trilogy The Lives of the Mayfair Witches. The series stars Alexandra Daddario as Rowan Fielding, Harry Hamlin as Courtland Mayfair, Tongai Chilisa as Cyprien Greaves, and Jack Huston as Lasher. Mayfair Witches is the second of a series of television series set in the Immortal Universe, a shared world based on Rice’s novels, which began with Interview with the Vampire in 2022. The series premiered on AMC on January 8, 2023. It was renewed for a second season in February 2023. Eurosurgeon Dr Rowan Fielding discovers he is the heir to a dynasty of powerful witches possessed by dark spirits.

The development rights to Anne Rice’s book series Lives of the Mayfair Witches were still held by Warner Bros. in December 2019, when Rice began offering a package combining film and television rights to The Vampire Chronicles and The Mayfair Witches.[6] Rice was reportedly seeking $30-40 million from Warner Bros., plus $2.5 million in compensation for the rights, which would see the new owner hold the rights in perpetuity, not just as an option.[6] In May 2020, it was announced that AMC had acquired the rights to The Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches for development into film and television projects Anne and Christopher Rice will serve as executive producers on all projects developed. “It has always been my dream to bring the worlds of my two biggest series together under one roof, allowing filmmakers to explore my vast, interconnected worlds of vampires and witches. That dream has now become a reality, and the result is one of the most significant and exciting transactions of my long career,” said Rice.
