Kota Factory is an Indian Hindi-language television series created by Saurabh Khanna, directed by Raghav Subbu, and produced by Arnab Kumar for Viral Fever. The story is set in Kota, Rajasthan, an educational hub famous for its tutoring centres. The series depicts the life of 16-year-old Vaibhav (Mayur More), who moves to Kota from Itarsi. The film depicts the life of a student in the city and Vaibhav’s efforts to crack the entrance exams and get into the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Jitendra Kumar, Aasath Channa, Alam Khan, Ranjan Raj, Revathi Pillai, Priyanshu Raj and Urvi Singh also star in important roles.

Saurabh Khanna, the creator of the series, said that with the series he wanted to change the popular narrative around Kota and IIT-JEE and NEET preparation in Indian popular culture to a more positive one.The series premiered simultaneously on TVFPlay and YouTube from April 16 to May 14, 2019. The series received a generally positive response from critics, who praised the series’ black-and-white setting, realism, and significant technical aspects.
On August 30, 2021, Netflix announced that the series had been renewed for a second season, which would be released on September 24, 2021.On September 26, 2021, Raghav Subbu confirmed that season 3 was in the works.This was confirmed in February 2024, when Netflix released the first teaser on their Instagram page.

Vaibhav comes to Kota in the middle of the academic year and after being denied admission to Maheshwari’s class, he is assigned to A10, the worst grade among the prodigy classes. He meets Meena at his new host family in the same Prodigy who tells him not to accept admission to A10. He consults Deepak, the main manager of Prodigy, but his request for a grade change is rejected. He then meets Jeetu Bhaiya, a physics lecturer, who gives Vaibhav an essay of 50 questions and tells him to finish it by the next day. With the help of Meena and Uday, he solves 42 questions by copying answers from various books but fails to complete the remaining 8 questions. The next day, Jeetu points out his misconduct to Bhaiya and Vaibhav admits to cheating.However, Jeetu Bhaiya allots the A5 package to Vaibhav for his hard work.
Kota Factory Season 3 Review
Director Pratyush Mehta took over the directorial reins from Raghav Subbu this time. If the character had been more popular, he might have had an easier time. He withstood the pressure and brought up a taboo topic such as mental health.
Kudos to him for raising the issue of teachers seeking therapy as they need to help their students find their way to a better future. For instance, there is a scene where an ever-increasing leak is seen from the ceiling of Jeetu Bhaiya’s room, which is a brilliant metaphor for the emotional and mental turmoil he is going through. This time around, authors Puneet Batra and Pravin Yadav dig deeper and uncover various facets of the growing competitive scene, including the need to modernise the education system.
