Pictures and then moving to Paramount Pictures after defeating Hasbro and Universal Pictures in a legal battle over the film rights to the pen-and-paper role-playing game, according to the writer and director. Goldstein and Daly served as final writers and directors, using elements from director Chris McKay and screenwriter Michael Giglio’s previous film. Filming began in Iceland in April 2021, and later in Northern Ireland.

Edgin Darvis, a former Harper, seeks to resurrect his deceased wife with the help of his companions after being imprisoned for two years in Arctic Revel’s End. They plan to steal a magical relic, “The Helm of Disjunction,” to prove their innocence and save his daughter Kira. Alongside barbarian Holga Kilgore, sorcerer Simon Aumar, rogue Forge Fitzwilliam, and mysterious Sofina,
they navigate treacherous circumstances orchestrated by Sofina, a Red Wizard. With the guidance of Paladin Xenk Yandar and the discovery of the relic in the Underdark, they face Thayan assassins and a red dragon before ultimately escaping and continuing their quest.
Simon struggles with mastering Helm’s power, leading the group to use the staff to enter the vault during the games.
Despite finding the vault empty except for a magical trap, they are captured and forced to participate in the games before escaping. The group steals a boat loaded with treasure and rescues Kira from Forge, who was threatening her life. Sofina’s true intentions to turn people into undead are revealed, prompting a plan to distribute the stolen riches to draw people away from the stadium. In a final battle, Sofina is defeated, but Holga is fatally injured and revived by Edgin’s emotional realization. The team is hailed as heroes, while Forge is sent to Revel’s End.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Movie Review
This may not be a film that gets remembered in the chronicles of film history, but it stands out now, and I’m refreshed to see something that isn’t just a reboot or reimagining of a marvel character or a Disney film. I’ll probably watch it again later, just because I liked it.
