A priest from Assam and his daughter travel by boat to a temple during a festival. When the daughter is injured and her blood flows into the river, a shape-shifting demon, Bark, is released. Bark kills the daughter and takes her form. The priest then traps Bark’s soul in a vessel and forces him to take the daughter’s place forever for his wife. live with their children, Sakthi and Saravanan Jr. Santosh dies of a heart attack in the forest, and Selvi appears to have hanged herself in a well. Sakthi witnesses her mother’s death and goes into a coma. Selvi’s brother, Saravanan, a lawyer, learns of the death and visits the grieving children along with their aunt.
